Celtic Cables

Celtic Cabled Scarf

I was so ready for the challenge of the complicated cables in this pattern! In the end, it wasn't as complicated as it looks.

Instead of using double strands of Baabajoe's 8-ply Woolpaks in gray with US 13 needles, I used stash yarn and US 7 needles. The difference was stark, but I'm really happy with how mine turned out. I added a strand of mohair with sutle shimmer to soften the look and add some sparkle.

Using much finer yarn and smaller needles meant that I had to do 10 sets of pattern repeats instead of just 4, but it was worth the while!

Pattern Source: KNIT Ponchos, Wraps and Scarves by Jane Davis

Yarn: Lana Grossa Quattro; Rowan Kidsilk Night

Needles: US 7
